About
GPS, not a paper map.
AIOS is a navigation system for becoming AI-native. It doesn't hand you a fixed calendar plan that fails on contact with a real organization — it recalculates from wherever you actually are. Waypoints are the journey; evidence decides the next route.
What AIOS is
AIOS — the Artificially Intelligent Operating System — is not a software product. It is the operating model for becoming AI-native: a methodology and mental model where AI stops being an app you open and becomes the operating system your work runs on, for a company, a team, and you. The book is the practitioner manual for that model.
The integrated edition makes one argument at three altitudes — the enterprise, the individual career, and the technical build. Across all three, 32 waypoints use the same Locate, Act, Prove, Route loop and carry evidence forward in one Workflow Evidence Record.
The through-line is opportunity, not austerity: efficiency is the entry fee, not the prize. The goal was never fewer people — it was more company.

Mark R. Hinkle
Mark is a practitioner, not a pundit. Over 30 years in emerging technology — from BBSs and the dot-com era through Linux and open source to cloud computing and now AI — he's built a habit of pattern-matching what's real against what's hype.
He's the founder of The AIE Network, co-founder of All Things AI, and writes The AI Enterprise newsletter for 250,000+ business professionals. He coined the term "Shadow AI" in 2023. He runs three parallel AI work sessions most mornings and publishes multiple newsletters a week — AIOS is the system he actually uses.
